We recently reported to you the amazing news of Days of Our Lives bringing Kennedy Garcia on board to play Felicity. Chanel and Johnny have been talking about her for some time now, but viewers will finally get her first glimpse in the May 20, 2024 episode of the soap.
Ahead of her soap debut, Kennedy opened up to TV Insider that she has been wanting to do soaps for a long time. “For a role to come up for a teenager with Down syndrome was just amazing!” she gushed. Although this is her first Daytime role, she is no stranger to acting.
The delightful Days of Our Lives debutant has previously been part of many Primetime shows. Such as – 9-1-1, This Is Us, etc. Speaking about her DOOL role, Kennedy pointed out that it is such a special thing that the Peacock soap is doing. She is all heart for the fact that they are taking a chance on her.
“Inclusion in this industry is so important and I am proud to help move it forward,” she asserted. Apart from having Down Syndrome in real life, Kennedy also happens to be a cancer survivor. Certainly a real fighter, this one! As for her role as Felicity, the actress says, “She is sweet, funny and kind. She is also very smart and she never misses anything.’
Furthermore, Kennedy added Felicity loves her family on Days of Our Lives more than anything. Moreover, the young star is confident that the viewers will really love her role. She feels confident that viewers will see that even though she has Down syndrome, she is cherished by her family and friends. She is capable of great things, and she’s a hard worker.
Before signing off, Kennedy hoped that no one would end up underestimating Felicity as a character on Days of Our Lives. Or, ever actors with disabilities like her in real life.
