EJ finally opens his eyes, sending Susan into a joyful frenzy. Belle is quietly emotional, holding his hand and confessing her love. But when EJ registers Belle’s presence, he goes cold. Susan urges her to re-enter, but Belle hesitates. She isn’t ready to face him just yet.
Back in EJ’s room, Susan explains the shooting. EJ struggles to recall the shooter. Belle walks in — and EJ blurts her name. But wait, it’s not what it seems. He remembers Belle’s wire betrayal, not the bullet. Susan loses it, accusing Belle of betrayal. EJ asks Susan to leave. Then, he directly questions Belle: “Is it true? Do you love me?”
Days of Our Lives Recap: Gabi, Cat, and Susan Stir Up Trouble
At the square, Gabi chats with Cat about Chad. Sparks? Cat says no. Gabi doesn’t buy it. As they talk, Susan appears, causing instant chaos. She calls Gabi “mean” and accuses her of being near the house the night EJ was shot. Gabi tries to deflect, but Susan swears she knows. Gabi remembers watching EJ from outside that night. She denies everything, but Cat looks tense. When Susan reveals EJ is awake, Gabi flees.
Before leaving, she casually mentions Cat’s mom liking her chocolates — except the cherry ones. Cat is stunned. She didsend chocolates. Now she’s rattled.

Johnny stops by to thank Chad for pushing him to visit EJ. That conversation changed everything. He feels closer to his mom but still struggles with EJ. Just then, Chad gets a call — EJ’s awake. Chad rushes to the hospital. He finds EJ and Belle in a tense moment. EJ is thankful Chad saved him. Chad apologizes for the article that may’ve triggered the shooting.
EJ’s trying to piece things together. Chanel, Kristen — none of it makes sense yet. Chad promises they’ll catch the shooter.
Days of Our Lives Recap: Chanel and Amy Get the News They Hoped For
At Paulina’s place, Chanel and Amy have a heart-to-heart. Amy wants to move forward with the adoption. She’s reassured EJ won’t be part of the baby’s life. Paulina and Chanel give their blessing. Belle brings over the adoption papers. Everyone signs. Chanel tells Johnny he’s going to be a dad. He hugs her, but his expression says otherwise. At the hospital, Chad chats with Cat, who’s worried about EJ. Susan brings EJ coffee. He’s sore, but his memory is coming back.
Susan declares she knows who shot him. Gabi flashes back to that night once again — watching EJ pour a drink. But she shakes it off. “There’s no way Susan knows,” she tells herself.
