Eli and Lani are one of the most loved couples on Days of Our Lives. The fandom wholeheartedly fawns over them and misses them when they aren’t around. Thus, when the couple returned for a short-term stint recently, Days fans were ecstatic. It was really heartwarming to see them come home for Thanksgiving and stand by Julie Williams during the worst time of her life.
During their recent stint on Days of Our Lives, Eli and Lani told Abe and Paulina that Lani was taking up a part-time job that would keep her close to the kids. Meanwhile, Eli admitted that he is loving his FBI gig and is not considering giving it up for a job at Salem PD. So, it is clear that the couple isn’t planning a full-time return to Salem anytime soon.
However, one of the biggest things that we have learned in the Soapverse is to never say never! Things could change in a heartbeat! “We’ll figure it out. We’ll be back one day,” Sal Stowers stated in a recent chat with Soap Opera Daily. Furthermore, she revealed that many people reach out to her and ask when Eli and Lani will return to the soap full-time. They feel that the couple is what the soap is missing and would love to see more of them on it.
The Days actress also added that she and Lamon Archey (Eli) love their characters on the soap. And will remain loyal to the sudser. Thus, the thought of returning for a longer stint is always on the back of their mind. It’s what keeps them showing up for short-term stints every time the makers approach them with a storyline. “It’s always a yes,” Sal smiled. She also admitted that she is the actress that she is because of the soap.
The actress is currently appearing as Penelope on Tyler Perry’s Sistas, which airs on BET. However, she admitted that returning to DOOL is an option. “Speaking for myself and I think Lamon too, we both would be honored to get to come back and work for whatever that consists of.” Well, we hope the words manifest into reality sooner than later.
