The raging LA wildfires have left some really irreparable damage in its wake. Innumerable residents of the Californian gem have lost their homes filled with hope, love, and cherished memories. Many of our beloved stars have also had to watch their adobes burn down to the ground. If there is any silver lining in this atrocious fate, it has to be the wonderful ways that people of LA have showed up for each other.
Days of Our Lives star Linsey Godfrey is also in awe of the solidarity that Los Angeles has shown in these terrible times. Linsey who plays Sarah Horton on the long-running soap opera, recently admired the way people are donating money, items, or time to help their fellow Los Angelenos. “It shows humanity at its finest,” she told Soap Opera Digest in a recent chat. Linsey also expressed her gratitude that her family home managed to survive the fire.
The beloved soap star shared that her family has managed to find many things to donate to those in need. She admitted that she is currently blown away by how everyone is banding together right now. Linsey spoke about how normally many neighbors don’t even talk to each other. But right now, they are “doing amazing things for each other. It’s phenomenal.” On a sadder note, Days’ Sarah expressed her heartbreak over how some people have lost almost everything they had, and don’t even have the money to rebuild their houses.
Many people put their entire savings into just getting the houses and maintaining them. But with it all burnt down, they now have nothing. “It just kills me,” Linsey sadly shared. Furthermore, she shared that she personally knows so many people who have lost their homes to the fire. Sal Stowers, who plays Lani, lost a family home that belonged to her aunt. Linsey shared that Emily O’Brien has a friend who lost everything. “It is just so heartbreaking.” she lamented.
