It has been a whisker over two months since we lost a treasured Days of Our Lives gem – Billy Hayes. Many hearts broke when the veteran star crossed over to the other side. In fact, DOOL to paid a beautiful homage to the star with a special message borrowed from Hamlet. Now, his wife and co-star, Susan Hayes also has a very special message to share.
Susan took to her and Billy’s combined Instagram account to share her heart with their fans. The Days of Our Lives vet expressed “tender feelings” over the beautiful and heart-felt messages her family, friends, and even strangers had sent her. She recounted that it has been 2 months since Bill passed.
The Days of our Lives star thanked everyone for the beautiful messages they sent, as it proves that his life did not just touch hers but theirs too. “Thank you from a widow’s overflowing heart,” she wrote in the caption of her post.
Furthermore, Susan informed the fans that they held a celebration for Billy’s life on February 10, 2024. She added that the video recording of the entire service is available on her youtube channel. Should any of theirs or Days of Our Lives fans wished to watch the service.
“I have been told it’s already up to 116,000 views,” she added while stating the link is in her Instagram bio, and story. The astounding number of views just goes on to prove how loved Billy Hayes was as a person and star.

Bill/Doug was a Gem to the entertainment world in both his singing and his acting career. I watched him from his first appearance on DAYS and have fallen more in love with him in every appearance he made. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I started watching days almost at the beginning. I am now 72 years old. I lost my husband April 26, 2023. It’s the hardest thing I have ever gone through and I have been through a lot. We were together since 1973. He was my love. It takes strength and friendship to help you during the bad times of loosing a love one. I wish for you to come out strong. Peace and Love.
