Days of Our Lives star Wally Kurth didn’t take home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor at the Emmys on June 7. Well, his GH castmate Robert Gossett won that one. However, Kurth didn’t want to let the night slip by without acknowledging the moment. He shared on Instagram, “Unlike past awards shows when I didn’t really have a speech, last night I kinda did.” Check out what Wally might have said had he won!
Days of Our Lives: The Emmy Speech You Didn’t Hear!
The Days of Our Lives actor says it’s not usual to deliver a speech when you didn’t win. “But if I did end up onstage with Kelly Clarkson handing me the hardware, I might have said something like this.” Wally Kurth, aka Justin, went on to type out his heartfelt thanks on Instagram and gave a sneak peek into what his speech would have been like. He began by giving a shout-out to his fellow nominees. Moreover, he acknowledged every actor and actress that might have been present that night and his fellow one-take wonders.
Wally added, “We walk a high-wire every day without a net… and we love it…. Be proud of yourselves.” The actor went on to thank the writers for creating an hour of original television drama every day. The same goes for the producers of the American soap. Finally, Kurth thanked his wife for her warmth and support. “I’d like to thank my wife Debra for her love and support… and for tolerating me… every single day.”

The Days of Our Lives star might have joked, “It’s not easy being married to an actor, we can be… dramatic.” Additionally, the soap legend mentioned that his 30-second time limit would be up. But he would probably go on because he wants to thank Ken Corday. He thanked Ken “for giving me my big break in TV, 37 years ago, at a time when I really needed a job.” Kurth acknowledged that Ken did it again fifteen years back by inviting him back to his show.
In addition, Wally thanked the Days of Our Lives producer for remembering and investing in him. “Maybe I’d point to the trophy and say ‘consider this a return on your investment,'” he added. Lastly, the DOOL luminary wrapped up by sharing the moment with the late, great John Aniston (Victor). The duo was on the soap together for forty years and John taught him how to be a professional. Wally continued his speech, “I’d hold the trophy up and say, ‘John, I hope I made you proud.”
