EastEnders could be airing a shocking Christmas death that will affect the whole Carter family. This comes after some pictures from the BBC soap set were revealed where the cast was gathering up for a funeral. In the images, we can see a white coffin being carried into the church as the Carter family mourns in their pain. But who could it be? Is it Linda, Mick, or someone else from the fan-favourite clan? Is Linda Carter Dying On The Soap?
The BBC soap has been busy filming Christmas episodes. New photos showed the cast getting together for a funeral. Along with Linda, we could also not find Mick and Shirley anywhere, so it looks like the longest-running show might be setting the stage for someone’s death. But who amongst the Carter family will it be? Let’s take a closer look at all the clues!
The most obvious guess is Linda Carter, played by Kellie Bright. In the pictures shared by The Sun, all the clues point towards Linda possibly being the person dying. We were also able to see Maddy Hill and Danny Hatchard reprising their roles as Nancy and Lee Carter for the funeral, which is presumably for a loved one. Others in action included Johnny Carter and Elaine Peacock.
Long-time viewers know that pink was Linda’s favourite character, and we spotted Elaine also wearing pink accessories. There’s also been scenes of Johnny’s apparent drinking where Lee and Callum are helping him walk in front of the church. Will Mick Or Shirley Return On EastEnders?
Next on our list of possible deaths is Mick Carter, whose body was never found when he was lost at sea during Christmas 2022, but he was later declared dead and mourned by the community. Now long-time viewers know that Callum was particularly close to Mick so he might be paying his respects to his close-friend, if his body is discovered from the water? This would explain Lee and Nancy’s return, who loved their dad.
We obviously don’t want Mick to be dead, but we cannot rule out this strong possibility. Even though the actor Danny Dyer has not confirmed anything yet, we might get to see our favourite character return in the most heartbreaking way. Another Carter family member who might be bidding goodbye to Walford might also be Shirley Carter, who hasn’t been seen since Mick left.
It’s safe to say that EastEnders viewers miss her iconic one-liners, and with no news about her return, the soap might announce that Shirley dies somehow off-screen. This is a possibility because, in the new funeral pictures, we can see Nancy hitting Elaine, which makes us wonder if something has happened to Shirley. Viewers know that Elaina and Shirley weren’t exactly bestfriends so Nancy slapping Elaine could come up after some unkind comment from her about Shirley.
We hate the thought of even discussing the idea of Shirl, Mick, or Linda being dead and buried for good. But someone is being taken, and we just have to wait and watch to find out who it might be!
