Next week on Coronation Street, Abi Webster gets a phone call that stops her in her tracks. Her sister-in-law Debbie is on the line from the police station! Debbie’s got herself into some serious bother, and Abi’s left wondering what on earth happened to land her in a cell overnight.
Debbie’s Been Keeping Secrets
Debbie’s life has been in disarray since her family learned about her diagnosis of dementia. She did not want people to feel sorry for her or make a fuss over her, so she remained quiet as long as she could — even to the point of ending things with Ronnie Bailey, not wanting to put him out.
When she called Kevin to tell him she’d gone off to a spa to clear her head, he figured she was telling the truth. But she wasn’t reclining in a robe in some posh hotel, she was calling from the police station in yesterday’s clothes.
A Coronation Street source revealed that Debbie’s recent behaviour has been “erratic,” thanks to the stress she’s placed on herself by keeping her condition under wraps. Now that it’s all out in the open, it would seem that the pressure has finally caught up with her.
When Abi collects Debbie from the station, she notices straight away that something’s off. Debbie, who’s dressed in dark glasses and obviously worse for wear, slides into the car. Abi grills her for the truth, and Debbie begins to open up.
Ronnie Returns But Debbie Pushes In Coronation Street
Meanwhile, Ronnie shows up, now fully aware of Debbie’s diagnosis. He brings a bottle of champagne and a question, will she take him back?
Unfortunately, Debbie says no. She tells him she won’t have his future be about taking care of her, and that he should be happy with someone else. “Ronnie’s heartbroken,” the source explained. “But he’s not giving up.”
Debbie may be trying to shield the people she cares about, but will she open the door to them when she really needs them? Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the up-to-date Coronation Street gossip and spoilers!
