Kit’s Worries Have Only Increased
The past few weeks have strengthened Kit’s relationship with Brody Michaelis, particularly after the teenager had an epileptic seizure. Kit intervened in that terrifying moment, and what happened next created a genuine bond.
But Lou Michaelis would not entertain the idea of Kit potentially becoming Brody’s father. She did not want the fallout, as it would bring huge disruption to her family. Kit, however, could not let it go. As Brody’s actions were more violent by the day and Mick still not in the picture, Kit began to feel a greater sense of responsibility.
Consequently, he made a secret move. Behind Lou’s back, he got a DNA test with Bernie’s help. After Brody’s seizure, she picked up his cap, and it had strands of hair in it. That provided Kit with just what he needed to learn the truth.
The following week, Kit tells Bernie the DNA test results, and it’s as expected. He is Brody’s biological father. Even though they’ve confirmed it, Kit and Bernie still hesitate. It might be dangerous to tell Brody the truth. He’s already unstable, and to drop something like this on him would blow his mind.
The Results Change Everything in Coronation Street
On top of all that, Kit’s still burdened with guilt. Craig’s recent passing weighs heavily on his conscience. He didn’t even go to the memorial service because he thought he’d failed Craig. Now, with Brody heading down the wrong path, Kit is afraid that history will repeat itself, and that’s a load he’s not sure he can bear.
Even as Kit tries to keep the information in the bag, it doesn’t remain secret for long. He finds himself sharing it with Sarah Barlow, saying how difficult it is for him to sit on such a truth. And now that Bernie has this information too, there’s a better chance that the secret won’t remain hidden for much longer.
Meanwhile, Brody himself is oblivious. But according to actor Ryan Mulvey, who portrays him, that won’t be true for much longer. He recently teased that the reveal will arrive soon and outlined how it feels like everyone on the Street knows, except Brody himself.
Ryan described how the narrative had been building up slowly, and what will happen when Brody eventually finds out the truth. He described the reveal scene as something that has been building up and finally just bursts. He also revealed how it was intense and thrilling to film those scenes with Jacob Roberts.
