Dr Kial Roberts Brings A New Energy To Fairmont Crest
Greg Vaughan’s entry in the soap has been a turning point. His role challenges him on several levels. Before, he was Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives, but that is no more. In his fresh story, he is an orthopaedic surgeon who, in his own way, likes to irritate people by forcing them to leave their comfort zones.
Also, when the writer Michele Val Jean, for the very first time, revealed to him the concept of the character, he was completely dumbfounded. That’s because she didn’t give away much and had only implied that he would be playing a doctor. In another place, Greg was anxious as he had never acted as a doctor before. He was concerned about the heaviness of the medical dialogues. He didn’t know the medical terms, which would make his learning process hard.
Still, he tried to settle into the character by connecting his real life. He is the father of three active boys who keep getting injured. And that’s when he realised that orthopaedics felt more natural than he expected. Elsewhere, he also mentioned that this role suited him more than playing a heart or brain surgeon would have.
