EastEnders Fans Discuss Controversial Scrapped Plots
There have been rumours that suggest Phil was meant to have a racism storyline. Also, even fans noticed these early hints, like his “curry mob” comments towards the Masoods. However, the showrunner never moved in that direction. Elsewhere, even Dr May Wright was supposed to kidnap baby Summer.
There was also some news of the real-life disappearance of a child. However, the show instead featured a disturbing scene where Dawn was chained to a bed. The next comes the Grant Mitchell arc. So, Ross Kemp had refused a storyline where Grant would rape his wife.. In fact, the actor had also threatened to quit the show if the writers went through with it. Hence, this dark plot was binned.
Elsewhere, there was also reports that suggested Suzy was originally planned to be the one who killed Danielle Mitchell. However, the production wrote the character out. There were some difficulties with the actress. That’s when Janine Butcher took over the role in the final script.
