The Tuesday’s episode of EastEnders saw Kathy Beale and Harvey Monroe spending more time together as they found comfort in each other. As we already know, the Square is still struggling with the loss of Martin Fowler, and Kathy did her part to help his friends process their grief. She handed the café keys to Harvey, Billy, and Howie and gave them space to reflect on Martin’s memories. But while they found relief in reminiscing his memories—Kathy had her own emotional burden to face.
EastEnders: Kathy and Harvey Lean On Each Other
Later in the episode, Kathy admits to Harvey that she had finally gone to visit Rocky, her ex-husband in prison. Though she had been putting it off for months, seeing her ex-husband was difficult for her and she described him looking like “he had done 12 rounds with Tyson Fury”. As Kathy vented out her emotions, Harvey was there to listen.
What makes Harvey’s presence so special is that he didn’t offer empty reassurances or try to downplay her feelings—but he simply let her talk. That’s something she really needed. As their conversations shifted toward Martin’s memories, we could see how comfortable they were while talking to each other. There was a real connection, and it couldn’t be overlooked!
While their time with each other has always been easygoing, how they have supported each other lately suggests there might be something more than friendship.’ Ross Boatman, who plays Harvey on screen, has acknowledged that his character has always had a soft spot for Kathy. According to him, Harvey had always had some feelings for Kathy, and they even went on dates.
However, there’s still no concrete confirmation whether there’s a romantic future for the duo going ahead. We will have to wait for the upcoming EastEnders spoilers to reveal the rest. Until then, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more soap updates.
