EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia Fowler on the soap, recently announced her exit. But the good news is she is all ready with a new show. The actress is roped in by a rival – Channel 4, for a consumer show. The show is a four-part series named – “What’s The Big Deal?” where Natalie will test the Nation’s recent trends and hyped-up products. From Ice Baths to tooth whitening products, she will put them to the test to check if they really work.
The EastEnders star will work with six British households including scientists, nutritionists, and industry insiders who will help her decide what’s a hit and what is a miss with their honest review. The BBC soap star said that ‘like everyone else she also loves trying the latest things.’ She further added “I am looking forward to getting to ask questions we all want answers to, about must-haves products.” She also added that ‘she is a busy mum and wants to see what the best deal is, which works up to the claims.’

Natalie recently quit the fan- favorite role, after being on the soap for a good long 30 years. The actress opened up about how it feels quitting a show after three decades. She was discussing it on her podcast Off The Telly, with her co-host Joanna Page. She told her ‘It feels nice to be a bit different from her character Sonia.’
She also added that ‘there’s no burden of learning lines every night though it was a lovely thing.’ Cassidy further shared that ‘it is the people and the friends you miss, and she is not missing her work. She finally got her evening back.’
Though she is happy with her exit she does not want writers to recast Sonia. The actress said she feels very protective towards Sonia. She said her character can die off screen and added “Cathy runs in saying, ‘Ian, I’ve just had a message, Sonia’s dead.’ Later she also added that she would love to come back again for the 50th anniversary!
Her character Sonia has been through a lot lately on the soap. She gave birth to Reiss’ child during the 40th anniversary episodes. She named her Julia.
