Patrick Faces Anthony’s Dark Truth
Patrick’s world fell apart on Christmas Day. He learnt the full truth about his son, Anthony. The father tried to understand how the son he loved had turned into someone he couldn’t recognise. Also, he discovered that Anthony was under a restraining order from his ex-wife.
Soon, he got another blow when he learnt that his son had lied to Kat Moon, claiming the twins he had with Zoe had died. During Christmas dinner, Patrick’s emotions took over. And he blurted out that he wished Paul had lived and Anthony had taken his place. However, he soon regretted saying it. But Anthony left for the Vic. And sadly, that night became his last.
Zoe was arrested for killing Anthony. After that, Patrick tried bonding with Jasmine, his granddaughter, unaware that she had killed his son and her own father. Then he visited Zoe, but got more hurt when she revealed everything Anthony had done. Later, Cindy Beale tried to comfort him at the funeral. Even Jasmine returned for a moment of hope. However, that hope died when Jasmine was arrested, too.
AI Brings Anthony Back In A New Way In EastEnders
Next week, Denzel tries to help Patrick. After Tommy Moon gives him an idea, he turns to AI and creates a digital Anthony. Denzel sets everything up, hoping it will help Patrick to deal with his grief. The BBC explained the choice during AI Unpacked Week. The team also want the audience to learn about technology through such stories.
When the grieving father sees the creation, he breaks down and runs out. He is unable to deal with the image of his son in this new form. However, soon he returns and asks to learn how to use it. Later, he sits with the digital version of Anthony while Yolande watches with worry.
