EastEnders fans are in for a serious treat. Balvinder Sopal, known as the legendary Suki Panesar, is joining the ballroom. The 46-year-old actress is set to balance her life on Albert Square. EastEnders: A Dream Decades In The Making
Balvinder has been on EastEnders since 2019, taking part in some of the show’s most memorable and dramatic storylines. This includes her involvement with ‘The Six.’ She also had a groundbreaking marriage to Eve Unwin. It was the first lesbian wedding on the soap.
Balvinder shared on Instagram that this was a dream 21 years in the making. She said she first asked her agent about the show back then. “Never did I ever think it would happen.” She was just so excited. She met the dancers and contestants, and seeing them live was a completely different experience. In absolute awe.”
Juggling Soap And Ballroom Life
Balvinder will have to juggle her filming schedule. On top of long rehearsals, she’s stepping into a new challenge that will test both her endurance and focus.
The EastEnders cast has rallied behind her. Gurlaine Kaur Garcha played her on-screen daughter. She cheered her on: “ROOTING FOR YOU MUMMA!!!!!” Emma Barton, known as Honey Mitchell, sent love hearts.
