EastEnders Remembers Slater Family Drama as Zoe Flees Her Past
Zoe’s recent return to Albert Square had fans in suspense. Following 20 years away, her impromptu return came with a lot of emotional weight and a huge secret. To the shock of the two ladies who shared a roof, Zoe purposefully avoided Kat when she was at Stacey’s.
Zoe chose to sneak out the window and board a plane to Barcelona rather than argue with her mother. She did not say a word to Kat, so her mum had no idea she had been that close.
When Alfie learnt about Zoe’s plan to run, he promised to bring her back. Kat didn’t know the truth and believed he was flying to Australia. He instead gave hints that he would be back with the “best gift ever”.
Kat is still hurt after Alfie left and tries to lean on Jean, but Jean isn’t ready to forgive. She doesn’t like that Kat’s working with Kathy and Harvey, and she makes that clear.
Jean questions why Kat keeps going to Phil’s, and Kat, clearly frustrated, tells her there’s nothing romantic between them.
Elsewhere in Walford, Yolande Trueman has her hands full organising Patrick’s 85th birthday party. She gets Jean to keep him occupied while she gets things ready for the surprise at The Queen Vic. Jean does her best and invites Patrick in for a drink.
