EastEnders fans, brace yourselves for yet another iconic twist! It looks like the soap gods have finally heard us, and the show’s executive producer, Chris Clenshaw, is reportedly eyeing the return of none other than the legendary bad boy, Grant Mitchell. After reeling in iconic characters like Cindy Beale, David Wicks, and Jane Beale, it seems Clenshaw isn’t done surprising us! Keep scrolling to know more!
Ever since Chris Clenshaw took the reins of EastEnders, viewers have loved every bit of it as he keeps on bringing old characters back on the BBC soap. Speaking of iconic returns, how can we forget Cindy Beale? OMG—that was mind-boggling—no one ever imagined that Cindy was actually alive after pretending to be dead for 20 years. We learned that she was dating Ian and living with their son, Peter Beale.
Next, we witnessed Jane Beale coming back, another one of Ian’s ex-wives with whom Cindy thought he was having an affair. Soon, it was discovered that Ian was meeting Jane, but the duo had a platonic relationship. In a truly iconic scene, we saw Cindy and Jane meeting each other, and Jane introduced herself. She said, ‘Hello Cindy, I’m Jane.’ We love these jaw-dropping moments, right?

And the most awaited comeback also made it to the streets of Walford as Michael French reprised his role of David Wicks. He had scenes to his on-screen Bianca Jackson and he arrived with an intention of protecting her little girl. The longest BBC programme always keeps entertaining us and soap bosses really wanted to highlight the nostalgia factor this time. But, Clenshaw still wants one more character to return to our screens.
While speaking to TV Times, he said, ‘Grant Mitchell, for more brotherly drama with Phil!’ We know Grant was last seen in 2016 when his fam came together for Peggy’s funeral. And it seems like Ross Kemp is also up for it. In an interview recently, he said, ‘I don’t think you can ever say never, you know?’ He loved that part that he played for ten years and we sure’d love to see him again!
