Best known for her appearance and performance on London’s most iconic, the star seems to be swapping curtain drama for Walford chaos. EastEnders bosses have signed up West End legend for a guest stint on the show she’s all set to make her debut. The spoilers relay that actress Melanie La Barrie will take on the role of Dr Kelleher and become a crucial part of Ruby’s dramatic return. Regular viewers know that Ruby is back in Square after Martin found out that the duo have a kid together that she’s hiding from him.
Even though she initially lied and told Martin that she gave up their son for adoption, he soon learns that their son is with Ruby and is really ill. We will soon witness Melanie’s character, Dr Kelleher, informing the paid that their child is in need of a liver transplant. While speaking to Ruby and Martin, Kelleher tells them, “It’s one of the options we’re considering.” She also explained to them how Roman’s liver isn’t responding to steroid treatment, so a transplant is being considered.

The duo was informed that Ruby isn’t a viable option for being Roman’s donor, so Martin might come forward for the testing. As per The Sun, we will get to see the West End star in several upcoming episodes. Barrie made her debut in Ragtimes almost two decades ago and has gone on to star in some of the biggest stage hits, including her roles in Mary Poppins, Matilda The Musical, and Wicked.
According to sources, the exceptionally talented legend has also made appearances in Romeo & Juliet in both the original Manchester production and then on Broadway in NY.
