EastEnders viewers, be prepared: Oscar Branning is returning to Albert Square after all those years. The mysterious return was teased for weeks, and now it is confirmed. Max Branning’s son returns all grown up, nothing like the little kid fans remember. Scroll down to discover what is in store.
EastEnders confirms Oscar Branning’s comeback.
Oscar last appeared in 2017 when he visited his dad, Max, on Father’s Day. Charlee Hall played him as a young boy at the time, but things have changed since then.
Seventeen-year-old Oscar is returning to Walford as part of a summer plot. New actor Pierre Moullier will play him, and his arrival begins when Lauren Branning receives a cryptic phone call.
Pierre is making his debut on the soap and said it still feels surreal to move onto Albert Square.
He called the Brannings an iconic family and described Oscar as a complex character with plenty of surprises ahead. Oscar’s return may stir things up for more than Lauren.
Executive producer Ben Wadey confirmed Oscar’s plotline will be serious drama this summer. He teased that Oscar, being like all Brannings, has baggage. Viewers can expect a mix of shocks, emotion, and tension.
Even though it is not definite, word is being circulated that Max Branning could also be back on. He was last on the show four years ago, but an insider told us that his return would reignite old tensions and unfinished business. The team has not decided anything yet, but the rumours are already getting fans talking.
Oscar coming back feels like the start of something new for the Brannings. If he takes after Max even a little, things will get messy. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
