EastEnders Spoilers: Bernie Taylor bids farewell
Actor Clair Norris, who plays Bernie Taylor, is set to leave the soap in coming future. She has been residing in the Square since 2017.
She is the last Taylor standing in Walford after the previous departures of Karen in 2023 and Keanu, who was sent off over Christmas. Now, Bernie’s exit draws a line under the once-thriving family’s presence in Albert Square.
The BBC released a statement: “Clair will be departing EastEnders later this year, and we wish her all the best for the future.” It is a discreet farewell behind the scenes, but Bernie’s exit from the soap will be something else.
Dramatic twist as Clair Norris teases Bernie’s darker side
Clair Norris hinted that her last storyline will feature a considerably different Bernie. Hinting at her return, she promised dramatic final scenes.
Though she will miss it, Clair said the choice was natural. Eight years on the soap, Clair thinks Bernie’s story has come to a good place. She even took a couple of personal treasures with her, such as Bernie’s iconic Pride T-shirt and coat.
Clair has completed filming already, and Bernie’s departure is going out this summer. This will be a part of the soap’s 40th anniversary shows. With classic characters back and new plots starting, Walford is closing one book while beginning another. For more such EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily!
