EastEnders Fans Question Linda’s Role After Queen Vic Sale
With the announcement that Linda and her mother, Elaine Peacock, are putting Queen Vic up for sale, fans have taken to social media with speculation. Some worry it could be a sign that Linda could be leaving the Square for good.
While some fans are convinced that it may be the end for Linda, others are saying that people are taking things too far. A fan on Reddit asked, “So we know Linda and Elaine are selling The Vic. Are they leaving the show or staying on the Square?”
They also wondered where the pair would live and what Linda would do next. “Elaine can retire, but Linda does not have any skills beyond being a landlady,” they added.
Another viewer did not hold back, writing, “They should both leave. Linda and Mick were a package; she is not the same without him. I have had enough of her getting drunk in pink. It has been 12 years. What else does she do?”
Linda’s Tale Is Much Larger Than The Vic
Others ran to allay the chatter, saying nothing had been established. “Nothing has been said about them departing, not even gossip,” a fan responded. They also threatened future turmoil, stating, “Max is returning. They would not axe Linda with all that Annie drama still pending.”
Linda has also had major storylines beyond the role of owner of the pub, including battling alcoholism, recovering from rape, and mourning Mick’s death. Actress Kellie Bright, who joined in 2013, has found herself at the heart of some of Walford’s most telenovela-esque plots.
Her mother, Elaine, Harriet Thorpe’s character, arrived in 2023 to assist Linda in becoming sober and straightening up the centre.
A source subsequently revealed that Kat Moon would be inheriting the Queen Vic after Elaine and Linda decided to sell. For more EastEnders updates and spoilers, follow Soap Opera Daily.
