It was after a health scare and her exit from The Queen Vic that Elaine Peacock bought No. 5 Albert Square from Jack Branning. Subsequently, she changed it to a boutique hotel that she named Peacock Palace.
However, there’s one person who wants to shut her down. And it’s none other than Ian Beale. Ian also reported Elaine to the council for a garish sign and a lack of planning permission. However, soon the former matriarch found out that Councillor Barker was having an affair. So she blackmails him in exchange for using the hotel for his secret meetings.
Elsewhere, Elaine was also taken away by the police for questioning on child cruelty. It happened while she was confronting Louie for bullying her grandson, Ollie. Again, it was Ian only who had called the cops. With these constant arguments and her not so normal behavioir, fans feel she has become annoying to watch on screen.
