Former EastEnders star Danny Dyer, who became a household name after portraying the iconic character Mick Carter, has teased fans about his return. With the show approaching its 40th anniversary, Dyer might want to come back for a guest stint. Long-time viewers know that Mick was a beloved character, and he departed from Walford in 2022. Read on to know more about his potential return.
EastEnders is preparing for its 40th anniversary next year and a special live episode is the centrepiece of the celebration. We know there have been several old faces who made their comeback recently on the soap, and now we think that Danny might also receive a phone call from soap bosses. We know that he left the show after a nine-year stint with the character disappearing into the sea after saving Janine and Linda.
Ever since, Mick has been presumed to be dead but there are a lot of storylines where the character could come back. He made a funny comment at the National Television Awards where he asked the producers to ‘bring Mick back.’ Once again, Danny, while being on the KISS Breakfast Radio Show, has said that he would love to go back to Walford. He said, “I would be up for going back for the 40th anniversary, but nobody’s contacted me.”

Dyer also spoke about the storyline that could bring his character back and highlighted, “I think I need to go back and save my wife Linda, who’s now become a murderess. It does worry me a bit,” referencing the storyline of The Six, which saw Linda kill Keanu Taylor. Furthermore, Dyer isn’t the only one who wants Mick back; Kellie Bright, who plays Linda on the BBC programme, has also asked him to come back.
The actor is currently starring in the new drama series Rivals, where he plays the role of Freddie Jones. He is sharing the screen with actress Emily Atack on the show.
