Navin Chowdhry, popularly known as the ‘Nasty’ villain of EastEnders, made his debut on the show in 2022 and has been an integral part of several important storylines. Viewers of the BBC One soap hated his guts when he tried killing his ex-wife, Suki. His character recently returned to Albert Square after a three-month absence and revealed that he is dying.
Ever since he returned, Nish has been trying to make amends, but no one really trusts him, and why would they? The Panesar patriarch first and foremost reached out to his sons Vinny and Ravi, who are somewhat coming around to the fact that they should give their dying father a chance to mend strained relationships. However, the Nish actor recently spoke at the first RadioTimes.com, where he won the award for Best Villain. Navin said, ‘When it comes to the grandkids, he genuinely cares.’
It seems like Nish loves being a grandpa more than being a father, and his worst fear is losing his grandchildren. When asked about the relationship with his own kids, the actor said, “I think because his life has been so separate from them, the bond is arguably different to a normal father/child relationship, you could argue.”

He also reflected on his time in jail and how that made him lose touch with his kids. Chowdhry added, “So if anybody… we’ve done little scenes here and there, where if anybody can perhaps get through to him on an emotional level, it is his grandkids.”
Furthermore, the popular actor also shared updates on his current storyline and mentioned that he is more dangerous than he’s ever been. Following the news of his death, he has got nothing to lose and is trying to take advantage of that at every step of the way. Regular viewers of the show know that Nish has striked a shady deal with former daughter-in-law which has left the fans disgusted.
