EastEnders Icon Louisa Lytton will be walking back on the streets of Albert Square once again for the first time in three years. It sure must be a full-circle moment!! The BBC soap recently announced that Ruby Allen will be making her way back to Walford later this year. Long-time viewers know that we saw Ruby last in 2021, and after that, she was framed by Jean and arrested for growing cannabis.
However, after being behind bars for a while, Ruby told everyone that she’s with a child but because of her manipulative behaviour – no one believed her, especially Martin. But, but – to everyone’s surprise- Chrissie Watts confirmed the update about her former cellmate and said she, in fact, was pregnant. And now, with a baby in tow – we are sure of only one thing – chaos in Walford.

The soap star spoke to The Sun’s TV Mag and shed light on her explosive return. She said, “That’s Ruby’s character—she comes in and ruffles feathers, does the wrong thing and says the wrong thing, and she definitely comes back with a lot of drama.” Lytton also noted that her character is now a mother, so she definitely has her priorities in order. However, Ruby will continue to make mistakes but might not go out of her way to do so anymore.
“Being a mum has finally given Ruby a purpose in life, which I think has been something that’s been missing for a long time,” she added. Just like her role on the soap, Lytton became a mother in real life too so she might venture those into her portrayal too. The actor admitted she was “so nervous” to return but quickly felt “like I’d never left.” For more such updates on EastEnders, keep following Soap Opera Daily!
