EastEnders legend Jane Slaughter will take the centre stage as she gets her own new mini-series for the soap’s training scheme. The actress who plays the role of beloved Tracey, the barmaid who has been with the soap since the first episode. She will be a part of a special spin-off series. EastEnders’ Tracey Gets Own Her Mini-Show!
Jane Slaughter, who has portrayed the role of Tracey since 1985, is one of the many supporting characters who have shaped the BBC soap into what it is today! The star is now part of BBC Studios training, which offers the EastEnders Multi-Camera course, allowing trainees to learn the skill of soap directing. The bosses have shot a special online mini-series with Tracey in the midst. And it also features Ian, Kellie, and Elaine.
Furthermore, the stories revolve around the planning and celebration of Tracey’s 60th birthday. The mini-series will introduce some new characters that will give us insight into the barmaid’s backstory. While speaking of this amazing opportunity, Jane said, “It was a fantastic experience to work on this project and to work with such talented directors, actors, and crew. The collaborative experience was second to none, and I was delighted to be a part of it.”
There were seven trainee directors who will all go on to direct future episodes of EastEnders. As for other two training initiatives focused in script writing and acting. An open call was announced for aspiring candidates to join. Several candidates were selected in bootcamp which was headed by executive producer Chris Clenshaw and head of drama, Kate Oates.

The soap boss, Clenshaw, also shed light on the same. And said, “EastEnders has a rich history of championing new creative voices, and the show often provides writers, directors, and actors with their first credit.” We are so thrilled to see the BBC soap being part of something so amazing and new.
