EastEnders is set to roll out another return of a prominent character this year, with Ross Kemp making a comeback to the Square as Grant.
The Mitchell sibling had his last appearance during the 40th anniversary episodes when he attempted to reconcile with Phil and come to terms with their situation. Now he is becoming involved in two different storylines simultaneously. Keep reading for more information.
Grant And Mark’s Strained Reunion
The Mitchell man made an appearance in February 2025, amidst the 40th anniversary mayhem. He was trying to mend the relationship with his brother. But the next one is coming because his estranged son summons him home. The young Fowler who returned recently after a decade away, reappeared in East London last month. Also, their forthcoming encounter will be the first one since he learned the secret about his father.
Elsewhere, the character is also planning to check in on an old friend, Nigel Bates. Nigel has been dealing with a difficult health chapter. Also, the ongoing storyline is tough on the Bates family. And so the returning Walford face wants to show support. Ross Kemp said he was glad to step into the role again. Slipping back into the part still feels natural after all this time, said Kemp.

According to him, coming back at the end of this year just feels right. He further said that, for him, being involved in the dementia storyline is very meaningful on a personal level. It is related to a close family member of his who is outside the show.
Ross Kemp Reflects On His History With EastEnders
The statement from the boss who has been running the show also welcomes the long-time cast member back. He called the Mitchell crew one of the biggest parts of the soap.
The new executive producer, Ben Wadey, also explained that whenever this character steps into the Squarw, things shift. Additionally, the team is now ready to reunite the Mitchell family.

The actor had first joined the soap in 1990 and was a part of it through the 90s. But the character returned multiple times over the years. At the same time, Ross also has a separate career. It took him far from soaps.
Despite this, he still gives credit to the BBC soap for shaping his life. How excited are you to see Grant feature on screen? Let us know in the comments section. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
