Is Nicola A Redeemable Character?
Fans of the BBC soap have pointed out that Nicola made only a little effort to connect to Barney. In fact, her decision to exclude George from the plans for their unborn child didn’t sit well with viewers. Many viewers also find her role in Shireen’s death a point of no return. As we know, the manipulator had claimed that she only hired a hitman to scare Shireen off.

However, she soon confessed that she was directly responsible for her death. The killer had pushed Shireen who fell and struck her head on a rock. Later, she paid the hitman to bury the body at a derelict industrial site in Dartford. It was also revealed that the victim was pregnant with Nicola’s son, Harry. Hence, many think that the writers hit a dead end by making her actions truly unforgivable.
What EastEnders Fans Are Saying On Reddit
A user shared, “Every scene she’s in now, she’s either focused on herself or sowing conflict with other characters. Since Barney moved out to live with Zack she’s never bothered to see him or speak to him.” Another commented. “Some people just aren’t nice people, some are just assholes.”
Meanwhile a third said, “Both he and Suki are never held accountable.” Many of the users slammed her saying, “Thank you for this post. I’ve been thinking the exact same thing. Congrats to Penny for putting her in her place.” The villain is also accused of blocking Harry’s chance to have a child of his own.”

While another said, “Nicola frequently belittles her son’s father.” Despite these claims, many soap viewers are in favour of her. One said, “Nicola is a good villain tbf. She doesn’t have any redeemable qualities but she’s entertaining to watch as opposed to having no redeemable qualities and being a drag on the show.”
The user added, “Anyone who expected her to slow down because she’s having a baby forgot she already raised two children and it didn’t change her at all. She is a female Max Branning, irredeemable, but fun to watch her fall into the same mischief over and over again. Meanwhile, do you like Nicola’s character? Let us know in the comments section.
