Joel Drags Tommy Into His Mess
Joel’s father, Ross, recently took another job. He gives Joel’s responsibilities to Vicki. And she tries her best to guide him. However, Joel is back to his dirty tactics. He pushes Vicki against her authority. He has recently developed an obsession with live recording. He asks for money to buy tickets to visit his favourite influencer podcaster. However, the influencer is someone who spreads misogynistic and damaging ideas.
Vicki has clearly warned Joel. She doesn’t want him to follow that path. She refuses to give him money and won’t let him follow a man spreading toxic ideas. However, Joel ignores her and does what he wants. Later, Vicki vents to Kathy at the cafe. Joel sees this as an opportunity. He steals her card and books the tickets. He also drags Tommy Moon into this. He convinces him to skip school and join him. Then the two boys sneak off.
Soon, Vicki finds out the truth. She tracks both the boys down. She enters the event along with Kathy to bring the boys home. However, Joel gets furious and lashes out at her. He blames Vicki for running his plan. Tommy is nervous and doesn’t want trouble, but Kat soon finds out. She scolds him for skipping school and for falling into Joel’s trap. But Vicki is left shaken. She doesn’t want to lose control over the troubled boy.
EastEnders’ Vicki Turns To Julie Bates For Help

And she is also aware of the rise of toxic masculinity. She also believes Joel will struggle to escape his dark path. But she feels Tommy still can be saved. He needs people who can have a strong influence on him.
Julie then goes to speak to Joel directly. She hopes her experience will help him get through it. Vicki, on the other hand, is hopeful. She thinks somebody might finally be able to do what she couldn’t. Vicki understands the importance of bringing Joel back on track.
