EastEnders: A Family Reunion Turns Ugly
Callum and Jonno always had a strained relationship. Callum and his brother Stuart endure their father’s bullying ways while growing up. Jonno’s cruel behaviour towards his children has left lasting pain. One day, Callum informs him that he is gay. It was a brave move by Callum; however, Jonna was not ready to accept it. He was set to disown his son but not accept his son’s truth.
The rejection pushed Callum away for good. The Mitchells, however, made sure Jonna knew he wasn’t welcome. Phil delivered a punch that drove him out of Walford. After Eve was subjected to verbal abuse, Callum intervened and unintentionally confronted his father.
Eve claims it was Jonno who was making homophobic remarks against her. However, Jonno shifts the blame onto a so-called mate. Callum cannot believe his dad’s excuses. He is tired of them. Jonno wants to reenter his son’s life and mend things. Johnny steps in. He wants to mediate things between Callum and Johnny. Jonno pretends he wants to make amends, leaning on the Carter–Highway link to sway Johnny. When Johnny tells Callum, he’s left unsure what to think. He still hopes his father will accept his choices and agree to meet him, a moment that could change everything. But viewers know Jonno’s character. He is just pretending and will make things worse for Callum.
Jonno’s True Colours
Jonno take the first step at Callum’s flat. He says he regrets his actions. Callum tries to believe that Jonno is not lying. However, soon Jonno’s true colours are out. Callum realised his real motive when he asked him for money.
Callum couldn’t believe his eyes. For the first time, he thought that Jonno had returned to mend their relationship. But it is now clear Jonno is interested in where he can gain something. Callum refused to give him money, which left Jonno angry. His father’s actions hurt Callum.
However, Jonno suddenly collapses on the ground. He is lying there helpless. Callum is devastated to see his father collapse. He doesn’t want to lose him like this, and Johnny quickly rushes to help.
