Jo Joyner Looks Back On Her EastEnders Journey
Jo Joyner is 48 now, but she was a major part of the BBC soap from 2006 to 2009. She was in many storylines. Tanya found out her husband was with Stacey Slater. It caused much drama, and people still remember it today. His affair was discovered on a Christmas special.
Jo recently spoke about that storyline. She praised the writing and the character development. She said that even after having minimal sets, the story was compelling. The Christmas episode also had a rain machine. And it was actually unusual for the time. However, everybody’s great performances made the scene work.
Jo has been on and off the soap since 1999. She always wanted to take on some lighter projects. She wanted to seek comedy as she was mostly doing emotional scenes. However, she says that the soap bosses were always ready to take her back whenever her schedule matched. She wanted to explore other adventures after she took a break from EastEnders. And she is grateful that she did it because it kept her work fresh. It has also allowed her to take a role outside the soap, but she always remained connected to Walford.

She was asked if she could return to complete the Branning family storylines. To which she answered that we should never say never. However, she also mentioned that she has a busy schedule ahead of her.
Jo also mentioned a short story about her onscreen son, Oscar. It was in reference to a picture which Jake Wood sent her from the sets. One could see that even after years, she still shares a close bond with her colleagues. Recently, Zoe’s romance with Jake onscreen was revealed. And fans feel Tanya’s return would be the perfect timing.
