Former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer has finally opened up about his character’s return to the daytime soap. The actor has finally addressed the rumors of his comeback and it seems to be sounding positive. Long-time viewers know that Mick was a beloved character, and he departed from Walford in 2022. Will Mick Carter Return To EastEnders?
The BBC soap just celebrated its 40th anniversary, and between all the celebrations, we saw several characters making a comeback over the last few months, including Grant Mitchell and Nigel Bates. It seems that Danny was all set for the return but did not receive any invite.
The actor revealed that ‘a lot of people keep asking him about his return. He said ‘he would have gone, but they didn’t ask him to.’ He also added that “I think they’ve got the hump with me now, I don’t know why!” Danny further said that now that he didn’t return for the 40th anniversary, and now something very major will have to happen for Mick to come back to Albert Square.
Danny’s Journey As Mick Carter!
Viewers know the fan-favorite first appeared on the daytime soap in December 2013. He joined the cast as Mick Carter who was the younger brother of Shirley Carter. His final scenes were aired on Christmas 2022 after that he left the soap. We know Mick reunited with his childhood lover Linda Carter after which he car chased Janine Butcher. The three ended up in the sea.
Mick rescued Janine and jumped back in the sea to rescue Linda, but she already managed to come to the shore. Since then he has never been seen. Everyone presumed him dead, but the fans were hopeful that he might have survived somehow and would return. Danny joked that he knew it’s time for him to bid farewell to Mick after he was paired with ‘Murderess’ Janine.
Since his exit from the show, Danny has played a different range of characters including Rivals and Sky Max comedy Mr Bigstuff. He is also playing the lead in Marching Powder.
