EastEnders Icon Ross Spills Details Of His Upcoming Storyline
EastEnders star Ross Kemp has revealed the details of his bombshell return on the show for its 40th milestone celebrations. Earlier this year, the BBC programme confirmed that legendary Kemp will make a comeback as Grant Mitchell for its anniversary week. It will include an hour-long special as well as a 30-minute live episode. The character was last seen in Square in 2016 and finally returned during Phil’s flashback episode.
Regular viewers know Phil Mitchell is in the midst of a mental health struggle storyline and this week he was hallucinating scenes from 1985. And now, Ross Kemp has shed light on the same while appearing on The Graham Norton Show. The star talks about his first day back on the set and mentioned that it was an eventful day as his storyline included wrestling a gun off of his co-star, Steve McFadden.
“My first day on set was wrestling a nine millimetre Beretta pistol off somebody as they tried to shoot themselves in their head. And they [the scripts] just carried on like that for three more weeks. So when I left, I was in a very good mood,” he said. Kemp also talked about the soap’s 40th anniversary documentary and realised the huge impact that the show has had over its viewers.
