EastEnders fan-favorite actor, Ross Kemp has seemingly confirmed his return on the BBC soap after he was spotted leaving filming for its 40th anniversary special. The 60-year-old played hardman Grant Mitchell from 1990 until quitting in 1999, but he has returned for several small stints, most recently in 2016. Back in September, the speculations about Ross coming back made rounds, and this week, it was confirmed after he was spotted leaving the production set in a car with tinted windows.
The popular star also spoke to Alison Hammond during his interview on the This Morning show about his potential comeback. Kemp said, ‘I can tell you nothing. I am very proud of the show celebrating 40 years, and I wouldn’t have had a career, good or bad, without it.’ He only highlighted that she loves the BBC programme and will continue to support it as long as he can.

The new pictures of him driving out of the show’s set have come out and we are so excited to see him again. Long-time viewers last saw Grant when he arrived for his mother Peggy’s final days and funeral. Soap boss Chris Clenshaw also recently admitted he’s the one character he would love to reintroduce, and he will be joining celebrations by hosting his own EastEnders documentary.
Along with this, we know that Grant’s brother, Phil, will soon be in the midst of a suicidal and depressed storyline, so could Grant be making a comeback to save his brother? We really hope so! No matter what, it will be amazing to see Ross back on screen, so stay tuned. For more such updates on EastEnders, keep checking Soap Opera Daily!
