EastEnders Actress Shona McGarty Starts A New Music Chapter
Shona confirmed on Instagram that she’s officially returned to the studio. The actress shared a post on June 28 in which she is collaborating with legendary music producer Steve Anderson. Famous for his collaborations with Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears, Anderson has joined forces with McGarty on new music.
“My favourite place!” she captioned two snaps and a brief video from their shoot. “Collaborating with @mrsteveanderson is pure joy. We accomplished so much in our studio session yesterday, and I think it’s all coming together really well.”
This is not the first time McGarty has worked with Anderson. In April, she announced that they had already begun working together. “The two most special days in the studio! ‘It felt so good getting back behind the mic and dusting off the ol’ vocals again,’ she wrote.
Whitney’s Exit Marks A New Beginning For Shona
McGarty formally left the soap in 2024, having played Whitney since 2008. Justifying her choice, she mentioned, “I’ve enjoyed my time in Walford, but Whitney’s had some terrible things happen to her. I think she needs a break.”
A sea of love and support flooded the comment section from the fans and friends. Ex-Love Island host Laura Whitmore commented, “Yes, Shona! Love that you’re making music x.” For more EastEnders updates and spoilers, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
