EastEnders will turn really touching next week when the Square will be going through the emotions of almost a year since the shocking death of Martin Fowler. The day becomes a difficult time for those who were closest to him, especially for the little girl who saw him as her main support. Keep scrolling to know more.
Martin’s Death Continues To Impact The Square
The soap will flash back to the very special live episode of the 40th anniversary that happened in February 2025. That was the night when the local market stall worker was sadly killed during the massive explosion at The Queen Vic. He had gone in to rescue Stacey Slater when suddenly a heavy beam fell. And it trapped him under the rubble. Also, at that time, the two ex-lovers exchanged some very heartfelt words. Martin even asked her to marry him once again.
Even though the paramedics lifted the beam, the severe leg injuries caused a sudden collapse. The character died right in front of the love of his life. It was a major ending for someone who had been part of Walford since his on-screen birth in 1985. Martin was the son of Pauline and Arthur Fowler.

James Bye chose to leave the soap after ten years playing Martin. However, he moved ahead with new projects, including the stage production Death Comes to Pemberley. And his final performance in the live special earned strong praise from viewers and critics.
