Joel Marshall’s time in EastEnders is coming to an end as his violent behaviour finally catches up with him. Actor Max Murray joined the soap last year. He’s set to leave after a run of dark and tense episodes, closing a grim chapter in Walford. Keep scrolling to learn more.
Trouble Follows Joel From The Start
Joel Marshall arrived in Walford alongside his father Ross. However, soon his true intentions and dark side were revealed. It was discovered that he had previously upskirted a girl in her class while he was in Australia. Ross bribed the victim’s family to stay silent, but even then, Joel didn’t stop.
Joel’s behaviour only deteriorated further with time. And because of this, his family had to leave Australia and come to Walford. However, even after arriving here, he brought problems for everyone. He also impregnated Avani Nandra-Hart. Not just this, he even secretly recorded them having sex without her consent.

Later, he influenced his friend Tommy Moon in the wrong way. He introduced him to an online figure who promoted misogynistic views. They both then started adopting the influencer’s harmful opinions. Elsewhere, they thought that their abusive behaviour would be acceptable. Joel’s action escalates further.
He then sexually assaulted a passenger on the London Underground. Vicki Fowler, however, paid the victim. Joel’s storyline was also paired with a BBC Three Documentary. It explored the influence of the “Manosphere” and figures like Andrew Tate on young men.
Joel Faces Consequences In EastEnders
In recent times, it was difficult for anyone to ignore Joel’s actions. He had put Stacey Slater’s private content online. Later, he threatened Vicki and said she “needed a slap.” He attacked her and left her on the floor, but Ross couldn’t believe his son was responsible. But later, he found a recording that Joel had made while injuring Vicki. Now, Ross knows that he can no longer protect his son.
He gave the recording to the police, and Joel was arrested. Later, Vicki learnt that Ross knew everything from the beginning, yet couldn’t stop his son. She then ended her relationship with him. Next week, Sharon Watts and Kathy Beale will take Vicki out of Albert Square for a break. Elsewhere, Ross now has no place to live. So he moved in with the Beales after Harvey asked him to. But Kathy was against Ross staying at their home.

Harvey himself has his own experience with his son, Aaron. So he could understand Ross’s situation. Later, even Ian Beale agreed to it. However, Vicki is not aware that Ross is staying with them. Meanwhile, Max Murray’s exit has been confirmed. However, sources say that the producers might want to work with him again. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
