Natalie Cassidy has spoken about the personal guilt she carries from her youth. The actress got famous after playing Sonia Fowler for years. And now, she shared that her life might have taken a darker turn if she hadn’t got this role at just ten years old. For sure, the soap did provide Natalie stability. However, she grew up in the public eye during a difficult time for her family.
The actress’s mother passed away due to bowel cancer years ago. She lost her mother when she was 19. Hence, she spent her teenage years wanting independence. Natlaie says that if her mother knew their time together would be brief, she might not have allowed her to join the show to preserve those precious years.
Also, before she got famous in Walford, she mixed with the wrong crowd. Hence, she credits the BBC soap with keeping her on a straight path. She got to play Sonia when her life was most formative and volatile.

We know that Sonia Fowler’s final scene aired in APril last year. Sonia headed to Bali with her family on the BBC soap. Natalie has called her new life “liberated.” For years, her routine began at 6:00 am and evenings were spent memorising scripts. But now, she has finally got the time to pursue personal projects and record podcasts from home.
Also, turning 40 was a major milestone. It’s because she got the clarity to realise that she no longer wanted to be chained to the relentless schedule of a continuing drama. Despite that she acknowledges that the regular income and security of a soap are huge benefits. However, the desire to see what else the industry has to offer changed her thoughts.
