The EastEnders actress is all set with her new gig. Natalie, who has been part of the soap for more than three decades, announced her exit from the soap back in January. She left her fans shocked with her decision, which came after the 40th anniversary celebration. Before all her fans were sad about her exit, she shared that she would be back on your screens.

The EastEnders actress announced her exit from the BBC soap recently. In a statement, she said, “After another 11 solid years back on the Square, I have decided it’s time to move on to new pastures.” She further added that ‘the soap is hers, which makes it unforgettable for her.’ Cassidy will continue to love the soap as she started her career with EastEnders. The actress has already filmed her final scene, which is set to air next week. But the good news is that the actress is all set with her new gig.
The 41-year-old actress will soon be seen as a reporter with The Sun. Natalie will be seen as a special guest in a live recording of the one-to-one podcast named Pappy’s Flatshare Slamdown. She will be accompanied by host Matthew Crosby, Ben Clark and Tom Parry and comedian Leah Davis. They will be seen on the show on May 27, 2025, at The Phoenix Pub in Cavendish Square. The host confirmed the news by sharing it on his social media. There will be two shows on May 27th and June 2nd, respectively.
Natalie Opens Up About Leaving EastEnders
The actress shared how it feels leaving the soap after ages. She said it feels nice to do something different from Sonia Fowler after almost 30 years. On the podcast, Off The Telly, Natalie said that “the burden of learning lines every night has gone at the moment, which is a really lovely thing.”
Cassidy further added, ‘She feels nice that finally she can enjoy her evenings.’ On the soap, she will be seen dealing with her sister’s lies and betrayal, whereas there will be a stalker episode which might lead her to take a huge decision.
It will be sad to see Natalie leaving the soap. She has been part of the soap for more than three decades. But we cannot wait to see her exploring this new role. It would be fun to see her doing something different from usually playing Sonia Fowler. We also hope to see her back on the soap someday soon.
