Life hasnt been easy for Oscar Branning lately. His girlfriend, Jasmine, was sent to prison for her father, Anthony Trueman’s murder. And since then, the young lad has struggled to find direction.
Later, a heartbroken Oscar turns up at the cafe after having another late night out party. Despite being exhausted and shaken, the teen attempts to act normal.
Elsewhere, we know that local politics has been heating up around Albert Square. And Ian Beale is very desperate to reclaim a place on the council. The long-time resident is hoping to have fresh energy, as it might help revive the campaign. Later, he spots Oscar at the cafe and senses an opportunity.
Believing the young resident could help him to connect with younger voters, Ian asks him to join the campaign team. The businessman thinks that Oscar’s involvement could give him an edge against rival candidate, Elaine Peacock. However, Elaine is equally determined to get the council seat.
Elaine Peacock’s Plan Exposes Oscar’s Risky Double Game
Soon, even Elaine approaches Oscar with an offer of her own. However, she is unaware that the teen has already agreed to assist Ian. later the Queen Vic landlady asks for help launching a smear campaign aimed at damaging Ian’s reputation.
Instead of choosing one side, Oscar makes a risky decision. He feels the idea of secretly working for both rivals could be amusing. So the troubled teen decides to play along with the others. Initially, the plan works. But soon both Ian and Elaine realise that something isnt right.
And soon Oscar’s double game is exposed. Furious at the betrayal, the two immediately remove Oscar from their campaigns. Now Oscar again feels uncertain. But this may not stay for long as soap bosses have confirmed that Jasmine’s twin brother, Josh, will arrive soon.
