EastEnders star Shane Richie has revealed there are some ‘tragic and sad’ events lined up for the BBC soap’s Christmas Day. The star, who has been on the longest-running show on and off since 2002, spoke about how the cast members are currently filming the end-of-Christmas storyline, which will stun the viewers. He also added that this is all going to be an emotional affair, and not in a good way.
While speaking to Radio Times, the Alfie Moon actor said that the Jingle Bells festival in Albert Square will be filled with “Deceit, tragic, and sad” scenes. Although he kept most of the information tightly under wraps, he did highlight that his character, along with Kat Slater, would be involved in it. The actor himself was shocked to see what the soap bosses had in store for him.

He said, “I sat there watching this story unfolding in the Queen Vic that happens on Christmas Day, and as a fan of the show anyway, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe this! Stop!’ He also intrigued the audience by mentioning that they’re in for a lovely treat this Christmas. As for his current stint on the BBC programme, Alfie is involved in a child-parent abuse storyline with Tommy and iconic Kat Slater.
