EastEnders fans aren’t staying quiet. Some are furious, and some are confused. What started as a bold storyline has everyone split. Some call it bold, while others believe it went too far. Keep scrolling to know more.
EastEnders Viewers Rip Into Teen Pregnancy Twist
Lily Slater was just 12 when her character’s pregnancy storyline shocked viewers. Some viewers were shocked; others were plain furious. The backlash started online and hasn’t slowed down since. The biggest complaint is that it felt completely out of touch.
One frustrated fan wrote, “She gave birth with zero problems. Like her brain’s still developing, and they made that look okay?”
Another viewer questioned the parenting shown on screen. “No one sat Lily down to explain what having a baby would mean. She just stormed off, and everyone let her.”
There were also comments slamming the lack of emotional fallout. “They never showed the toll it’d take on her body or her mind. It was just skipped.”
EastEnders Boss Brings Back Big Names
While fans argue over the storyline, the soap’s new boss, Ben Wadey, is busy changing the game behind the scenes. And he’s not holding back. Several major returns are already locked in.
Nicholas Bailey is back as Dr Anthony Trueman, reuniting with Patrick after more than a decade away. Zoe Slater recently made her shock return, too, and now brace yourself as Max Branning is coming home.
Jake Wood is stepping back into Max’s shoes in the upcoming episodes. And this time, his son Oscar is returning with him. The role has now been given to actor Pierre Mouiller.
But the biggest twist is that Max Bowden is returning as Ben Mitchell. A source shared, “Ben Wadey had a list, and Ben Mitchell was on it. It took some time, but it’s happening.”
The comeback was set in motion after the boss personally watched Max in a stage role earlier this year. “He wanted to meet him, talk things out, and pitch a fresh start,” the source added. Max agreed to a short return. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, follow Soap Opera Daily.
