Tracy-Ann Oberman Reprises The Role Of Chrissie After Two Decades!
We know ‘final goodbyes’ have been really questionable on soap operas, especially when we have witnessed characters returning from their graves. This time around, a character who was imprisoned for killing someone is coming to Walford after 19 big years. EastEnders Spoilers reveal that drama will ensue as Chrissie Watts arrives in Albert Square. The infamous character was long gone from the soap; we wonder what brings her back!
Chrissie left Walford in 2005 after she was sent to jail for murdering her husband, Den Watts. In a bid to protect their freedom, Chrissie along with Sam Mitchell and Zoe Slater buried Den under the floor of The Vic barrel store and didn’t tell anyone about it. The truth came forward on the day when Sharon and Dennis were getting married after Sam, under the influence of alcohol, revealed the truth.
This led to Sam being blamed for the crime, and Phil Mitchell soon rushed in support of her sister and uncovered the real criminal, Chrissie. Ever since then, Den’s murderer has been imprisoned, and during her stint, she made a lot of enemies, especially Kat Slater, by involving his daughter in the murder drama. However, the biggest nemesis that Chrissie will have to deal with this time will be Den’s loving daughter, Sharon.

Regular viewers know that Sharon has already been dealing with another murder mystery right now, but how will she react over her father’s killer? We will have to wait and watch. While speaking about her iconic return, Chrissie actress Tracy-Ann Oberman said, “Chrissie Watts was such a great character to play – a victim or a villain.” She also added that when soap bosses reached out to her about coming back, she jumped at the opportunity because the storyline was fantastic.
The 58-year-old actress recently appeared in The One Show and spoke about what fans could expect from her return. She admitted that some of the scenes do not take place in the Square which means they were shot on the set of the BBC soap. She also highlighted, “It was weird. There are bits that are not quite on the set – but that’s all I’ll say!”
Uh-Oh! All of this seems really intriguing, and we cannot wait to see her next week. So, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more such EastEnders Spoilers & updates! Also, are you excited to see Chrissie again? Tell us in the comments below!
