We have all been talking about it for weeks now! EastEnders spoilers confirm a fan-favourite character from the Mitchell clan is going to bid adieu to Walford forever. The BBC One soap aired an emotional departure following a last-minute twist in its early release on BBC iPlayer. This news will leave many people heartbroken and devastated but it will affect Billy Mitchell the most. Keep scrolling to find out who!!
An Integral Member Of Mitchell Family Bids Farewell
Stevie Mitchell, played by Alan Ford, bids farewell to Walford in tear-jerking scenes in the soap’s latest episode. Viewers saw Stevie revealing the shocking truth about Billy’s mum being dead when he was just nine years old. Stevie told his son that his mother committed suicide after she found out about his infidelity. Billy was shaken to the core for all the right reasons after this news was revealed to him.
Soon after, Teddy encouraged Stevie to leave Walford. But in the wake of recent events, Stevie pulled a cab and returned to make amends with his family. In the meantime, Teddy tried cheering his estranged brother up and met with him for a drink at The Vic. Billy thanked his brother for giving him the confidence to stand up for himself. However, their small meet-up was disturbed when their father entered the pub.

While Billy was furious at his dad, Teddy implored his brother to listen to their father, knowing that otherwise, Stevie wouldn’t back down. He then apologises for his actions and also highlighted that he is glad that he was able to bring Teddy and Billy close. Stevie also confessed that getting to know his grandchildren meant the world to him.
Later in the episode, EastEnders spoilers reveal major revenge storyline. Viewers will see Stevie bumping into Phil and getting in a row on the street. During this time, he manages to steal Phil’s car keys. Stevie then hands over the keys to Mo Harris, who sells the car and gives Stevie a hefty sum of money, which he intended to give to Billy. As a furious Phil realises that his car has been stolen, he rages and reports it to the police, who take their sweet time showing up.
In the meantime, Stevie showed up at No.18 and asked Billy to let him meet his grandchildren for one last time. He then said goodbye to Will and Janet before he waved at Billy and discreetly placed the envelope of money on the table.
While he was leaving, Stevie shared a kiss with his short-lived girlfriend, Mo, who was in tears as she walked away. He then stood alone and gazed at Billy’s house and confessed his deep love for Billy. Teddy then consoled his brother, who is devastated that he lost his parents all over again.
When Billy found the money envelope that was addressed, he found a large amount of money with an old photo of Stevie, himself, and his late brother Charlie from a day out in 1960. Stevie then headed off in a taxi, smiling as he watched Phil struggling with his car theft ordeal.
It seems like Stevie won’t be seen in the Square, at least for the time being, but we never know when he might return. So, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily to get more such EastEnders spoilers & updates! Also, tell us if you think Stevie will return soon in the comments below!
