In the recent episodes, Nigel Bates’ condition worsened. Phil got badly burned after Nigel, who had dementia, forgot that he was cooking. Nigel was alone with Phil’s granddaughter, Lexi. She started asking him about the photos of his ex-wives Debbie and Julie on the fridge. Nigel got emotional and left the house. He sat on the bench in a park and started crying. Lexi followed him to check whether he was fine.
However, Nigel believed that Lexi was his adoptive daughter, Clare Bates. So, he told her that her mother was dead. Lexi’s real mother is Lola, but Nigel mistook her to be Clare and told Debbie was dead. Then Phil and Kat found both of them and explained to Nigel that he had gotten her mixed up with Debbie. Kat told Phil that it was killing him. She told him, referring to the stress he was taming due to Nigel.
Fans Suspect Julie Is Returning!
Phil said that he made Nigel a promise. He couldn’t dismiss him as a stranger. However, Kat told him that it won’t be a stranger. Though Nigel said that Phil didn’t want to involve his ex-wife, Julie, Kat said that they were beyond that and asked him to call her. She said that she was concerned for his mental health, as after six months, she could be back in the mental health unit. As Kat gave the photo of Julie to Phil, he was seen looking off into the distance.
Elsewhere, the soap fans shared on Twitter that Julie is coming back. One of the viewers said that they have to bring back Julie, as they have set the scene for it. If they didn’t want to bring her back, they could have said that they were divorced. Meanwhile, Julie first appeared in 1997. She arrived as Clare Bates’ teacher. They got together in 1998, but Nigel, Clare and Julie went to Scotland.
In January, in the shocking cameo, Viewers listened to her after three decades. When Nigel revealed that he was lying to Phil, he played a voice message saying that it was Julie.
