EastEnders Spoilers relay that the BBC soap has confirmed the arrival of Teddy Mitchell’s estranged wife Nicola, who will join this autumn. The bosses have signed up Laura Doddington for the role, who is best known for her appearances in Doctors, Holby City, and The Midwich Cuckoos. A little birdie tells us that this is not the first time Laura will be seen in Walford; she earlier appeared as Barbara in a 2009 guest stint.
Now, she is heading to Albert Square 15 years later, but as a Mitchell family woman. Laura will be revealed as Teddy’s mystery ex-wife and the mother of his sons, Barney and Harry Mitchell. Regular viewers know that Teddy has been trying to hide his wealth from Nicola so she doesn’t get what she deserves in the divorce, but it looks like he won’t be able to avoid her for long.

For obvious reasons, Teddy will not be impressed by his former flame’s arrival, but she’s determined to make her presence felt, whether her ex-husband likes it or not. In recent weeks, Harry and Teddy have been making some interesting comments about their past, and it could be that Nicola is what they’re running and hiding from. We’re excited to see how this storyline turns out.
Speaking about her new role, actress Laura said, “I still can’t believe I’ve joined EastEnders – I keep pinching myself! I grew up watching the show, so the first time I filmed in The Vic, I was like a kid at Christmas to be in such an iconic place with such a brilliant cast and crew. Nicola is a complex woman who comes in like the Tasmanian Devil!” The soap boss, Chris Clenshaw, is also delighted to welcome the fantastic Laura to the show.
