The young boy thought he had made a real friend, but it was AI. While others laughed, one person understood him. Australian newcomer Joel Marshall barged into Albert Square and left Tommy to deal with a mess.
After he violated a classmate’s privacy by recording her, he was forced to leave the nation with his partner, Vicki Fowler, and Ross. His father paid $50,000 for the girl’s silence, but her family insisted on returning to the UK.
Since then, Joel has recorded himself having sex with Avani Nandra-Hart and exposed Tommy, who is still innocent, to explicit content. As the boys board a tube to return from a day out, Joel takes out his phone and instructs Tommy to start recording. He hesitates inside the carriage, lands on Isla, and touches her inappropriately.
Tommy is stunned by the behaviour, and a furious Isla goes to Walford East police to ensure Joel is arrested. At the police station, Ross questions his son while Vicki deals with her problems.
