The story kicks off during a lively Branning family Sunday lunch. Jake Branning finds an unopened pregnancy test. And he teams up with Denise to figure out who it belongs to. The pair questions dinner guest Lily in the process, which leads to confusion. Stopping the interrogation, Penny admits that the test is hers. Initially, she claimed that the results were negative. However, she is embarrassed when Jack expresses relief.
According to sources, Jack hadn’t even considered the possibility that the test might belong to Penny. Penny, annoyed by his inconsiderate behaviour and how he seems to treat her differently from the other ladies around, finally discloses that the result was positive after all. She kind of leaves Jack wondering what has gotten into him with the way he’s been treating her.
However, in the end, Penny still decides to contact Lauren Branning for help, even though Jack was being awkward. She opened up to Lauren about her fears as a young mum with a disability. At another place, after realising he had made a mistake, Jack says sorry to her. However, he quickly risks offending her again.

The GP there explains what to expect if she keeps the baby, including various help options. However, this talk causes even more tension. The reason is that the GP seem to give less importance to Penny in the discussion, which annoys the new mum.
