Just when we thought the show couldn’t make David Wicks’ return any more iconic, EastEnders spoilers revealed a last-minute that long-term viewers will surely love. In the beginning of this, Michael French reprised his role of David Wicks on the BBC programme after receiving a concerning call from Kat Slater, who was worried about Bianca. But, he kept getting a secret call from someone named Holly, and her identity was revealed recently.
Viewers saw that David was all set to bid adieu to Walford yet again after meeting with former flame Cindy and his daughter Bianca. The concerned father tried to be there for his daughter, who is struggling with mental health issues. After a lot of chaos involving David and Cindy regarding her sneaky affair with Junior, the long-lost character departed Albert Square, but his phone rang, and it was Holly.
While leaving, he picked up her call and said, “I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you. I’ve just had my hands full. Is everything alright up there?” David then revealed that he is looking forward to meeting her and seeing her graduate. In response, Holly told her father (Joe Wicks) that he had promised David would stay with them for the celebration. After this, Holly passed the phone over to his dad, and it was then revealed that Joe Wicks is Holly’s father.

The duo then greeted each other warmly on the phone. This means that Holly is David’s grandfather. Long-time viewers know Joe Wicks, who has now made a brief but shocking return to the show after 27 big years. EastEnders spoilers relay that Joe was a regular on the BBC soap in the 90s and was portrayed by the actor Paul Nicholls. This heartwarming video call between them confirmed that they’re reconciling after a long time.
For the unversed, Paul became a household name through Joe Wicks in 1996 and 1997. Ever since he left the soap, he has been a regular on TV through other projects like Law & Order: UK, Holby City, and Ackley Bridge.
