Viewers recently witnessed Tommy getting out of control after he snapped in the living room and left Freddie with burns. Soon, the Slater family found out about his violence against Kat and later discovered the troubled teen would be hurting the twins, too.
Even after this- Kat continued to protect her son, but after the situation got worse, Jean had to intervene, and she made a call to social services about Tommy. As Kat and the boys leave for school, social services and the police arrive to talk to the family, after receiving an urgent report. After inquiring with Kat, she will deny all the allegations but they will want to speak to the children alone about the situation.

Now that Kat has been defending Tommy so much, fans cannot help but wonder if this might set some link to a previous storyline, which was the most controversial one.
